Route 66 Family Festivus, July 13 & 14

on, Mon Jun 17, 2013 by, rt66.rd

With the reschedule of the Route 66 Triathlon Festivus to July 13 & 14, we are taking the Adult & Youth Aquathlons (previously scheduled at Arcadia Lake the same weekend), & moving them to Lake El Reno. All events will be combined into the largest multisport weekend we’ve ever put on: Route 66 Family Festivus. There is an event for everyone in the entire family to complete in: Triathlon, Aquabike, Adult Aquathlon, & Youth Aquathlon. We hope you & your family can all participate in 1 of the weekend’s events.

If you were previously registered for the Festivus scheduled for June 1 & 2, your registration has been rolled over to the July 13 & 14 reschedule date, you do not need to re-register. The RD’s have sent out emails updating all participants on our new schedule. Anyone registered for the Sprint or Olympic Triathlons/Aquabikes, we have also arranged for you to compete in the Adult Aquathlon for FREE. You will need to go back into registration, where we’ve added a line for the Aquathlon, & register yourself for it though. This FREE race offer also stands for anyone looking to sign up now for the Sprint or Olympic Tri/Aquabikes. Registration to all Family Festivus events is now open & links to the registrations can be found above, under the “RACES & EVENTS” tab here on the homepage.

The Youth Splash N Dash is a separate USAT Youth Series event, & requires separate registration. The link to this event is also found in the “RACES/EVENTS” tab. It’s a great opportunity for your youngsters, the future stars & leaders of multisport, to become acquainted with triathlon.

Some common Q&A regarding the Route 66 Family Festivus:
***Packet pickup must be done over. We will have new bibs & bike numbers for you. Please check the event registration for this info, & how it affects you. Not all races require bib #s.
***We will hold the Sprint, Adult Aquathlon, & Youth Aquathlon all on Saturday; each following the other upon completion. The Olympic distance events will still be held Sunday. Schedule is as follows:

July 13th:
Sprint Triathlon & Aquabike: 7:30AM
Youth Aquathlon: 11:00AM
Adult Aquathlon: 1:00PM

July 14th:
Olympic Triathlon & Aquabike: 7:30AM

***This weekend of races will require a strong volunteer base. Please email our Co-RD, Holly, at HHicksblack@gmail.com if you can volunteer your time to helping the event coordination. She will help you fill a role within 1 or more of the races, based upon how much time you can commit.

Thank you all for your patience as we regrouped & put this event together, following the El Reno tornado.
