Need to get a hold of Robert Cooper. I believe he has done it twice. I will tell him about your post.

Jeff,

You may want to check this thread for some general info, especially logistics of the race:
http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?post=678707;search_string=vineman%20race%20report;#678707

You can also search the site for "vineman race report" to read some of the more detailed accounts.

I have done Wildflower out in California but not Vineman!!! The Wildflower triathlon festival is an incredible experience that every triathlete should experience at least once.

As Coop says he has done Wildflower, talked to him this morning and we think Mike Peteron has done Vineman, (may have even won his age group), so maybe Mike could post a response.

I haven't done Vineman but Larry Krutka from Tulsa has. He Qualified for Kona there.
I understand the bike has a lot of rollers.

If I remember correctly, Olen said that Darlene had a very negative experience at Vineman. There's also several race reports on slowtwitch with negative experiences as well. My guess is that it appeals to some, but not others. I know, profound statement...isn't it? Maybe Olen can remember some of the specifics of Darlene's story once he gets on here.

Thanks to all. I looked at slowtwitch and will keep my eyes peeled for others. I am using a 20-week plan for the 1/2. The event is about 80 percent filled now. It will be my first half and hope to roll that into another half at Redman later this year. Thanks again.
